The framers have been concentrating on the timber framing over the last few weeks. The wood really looks awesome. The trusses have been installed and the roof stringers have all been set. The initial tongue and groove ceiling is partially installed on the building. This ceiling is really impressive and for the first time we can really get a sense of the space. It feels HUGE!!!
We’ve been making use of many reclaimed materials as much as possible. The siding we are using on the outside of the tasting room is reclaimed Douglas fir sourced from an old mill. Our flooring is a beautiful oak which was also salvaged from on old building. In addition we’ve excavated and installed water delivery conduits for a geothermal system which will feed energy to the buildings heat pump. The water will come to this system from irrigation ponds located just at the base of the vineyard.
We’ve spent our last few weeks squaring away appliance orders and material purchases for the bars and tasting room library table. Things are shaping up for an on-time opening prior to this years’ grape harvest.
